Sikh Stories

Discover the Voices of Sikh Stories
Welcome to the Sikh Stories Podcast, created in partnership with Sikh Sanjog and The Living Memory Association, with support from Awards for All Scotland.

The Sikh community has been part of Leith and Edinburgh since the 1940s, yet its stories often remain untold. This series gives voice to first, second, and third-generation Sikhs, sharing their experiences of growing up, building identities, and balancing Sikh and Scottish cultures.

Through personal memories, we explore faith, tradition, family, self-expression, and the meaning of community—both within and beyond the Sikh world. This podcast is just the beginning of a long-term project to record and archive these vital histories for future generations.
Join us as we listen, learn, and celebrate the rich and varied experiences of Edinburgh’s Sikh community.

If you are from or have a connection to the Sikh Community in Leith or Edinburgh and have a story to tell, please get in touch by contacting Sikh Sanjog through our website at sikhsanjog.com.
