The Making Memories group meets every Thursday at The Little Shop of Memory. We are united by a love of learning and talking about craft skills. We visit exhibitions, meet with local crafts people, share our own skills and experiences and sometimes even put together exhibitions of the work we have made.
The group is organised by Edinburgh artist and designer Frances Priest and we are partnered with Craft Scotland’s outreach and education programme which allows us to work with talented local artists and designers. Previous contributors include: Metalsmith Bryony Knox, Furniture Designer Isabelle Moore, Mosaic Artist Joanna Kessel, Weaver James Donald, Milliner Sally-Anne Provan, Lingerie Designer Hazel Lethaby, Textile Designer Karen Mabon, Glass Artist Amanda Baron, Signwriter Robin Abbey, Violin Maker Neil Mcwilliam, Jeweller Prof. Dorothy Hogg OBE, Ceramic Artist Mella Shaw, Jeweller Mirka Janekova, Glass Artists Jeff Zimmer & Illustrator Lucy Roscoe.
The group is open to all but numbers are limited. If you or someone you know might be interested in joining the group why not get in touch… And if you have a craft skill you’d be willing to share with the group we’d love to hear from you!
Thursdays, between 11am and 1pm.
Sandwich lunch provided. Booking is essential.
